Welcome to the Department of International Relations at the University of Dhaka!

This Department has a glorious history of developing and promoting the study of International Relations.

Founded in 1947, the Department has progressively risen in eminence and continues to foster teaching and research.

A SNAPSHOT OF THE PMIR PROGRAMME

• The Professional Masters in International Relations (PMIR) programme was initiated in 2016.
• The PMIR programme is ideal for working professionals and those who intend to build career in various sectors like civil service, armed forces, foreign diplomatic missions, local and international financial institutions, multinational corporations, non-governmental organisations, security and intelligence agencies, think tanks, and media.
• The PMIR programme runs for 18 months (divided into 3 semesters of 6 months each).
• The taught courses focus on cross-cutting issues like International Law and Organizations; Foreign Policy of Bangladesh; Global Development, Trade and Governance; International Security; South Asian Affairs; and International Diplomacy.
• In addition, a research/dissertation module allows students researching and writing research papers/dissertations on topics related to contemporary global politics.
• All classes are held during the weekends (Fridays and Saturdays).

Tuition Fee Details

Total Tuition Fees: Tk. 1,60,000 (one lac and sixty thousand only)

Students can pay the total fees all at once or in three separate installments as stated below:

• First Installment: Tk. 60,000 (sixty thousand only) on the day of enrollment.
• Second Installment: Tk. 50,000 (fifty thousand only) before the 2nd semester starts.
• Third Installment: Tk. 50,000 (fifty thousand only) before the 3rd semester starts.
